Come join members of the Prince of Wales Alumni Association from London, Washington, New Jersey and Atlanta as they mark the end of their fourth annual Global Conference scheduled to take place at the Holiday Inn at Long Beach on Saturday August 15, 2009..  The global conference is an annual event that gives PrinceWaleans, particularly those residing overseas, an opportunity to discuss the needs of their alma mater and consider proposals for developing the curriculum and facilities at the school.

The occasion provides a unique opportunity for Sierra Leoneans and others living in Southern California to fraternize with alumni of the school who have traveled thousands of miles to discuss the future of our school and, vicariously, the future of education in Sierra Leone and, by extension, the future of the country as a whole.

At the end of the conference there will be a fund raising dinner and dance at 8:30 pm at the Lakewood Country Club in Lakewood. It is hoped that we will all make an effort to support all the alumni who have traveled thousands of miles to be at the conference. Residents of California are well known for their generosity and it is hoped that we will confirm this premise by joining the Princewaleans in our hundreds at the dinner and dance.

Sierra Leone is in desperate need of support from its citizens who are now enjoying a better quality of life overseas. It is important that we remember that we owe what we have achieved to the foundations laid bythe various educational institutions we attended in Sierra Leone. It will not be asking too much if we all repay this debt by contributing to the fund raising efforts of alumni of schools in Sierra Leone and thus help to rebuild the country one school at a time.
